Physical Education

PE at GDIS is designed to offer involvement and participation. To achieve and maintain good health you need to exercise regularly, also достопримечательности Нижнего Новгорода. The department believes in equality of purpose; all students are encouraged to achieve their full potential. Key philosophies; enjoyment, self-criticism/evaluation, and a mature social attitude are positively encouraged throughout all activities. Those currently offered include football, basketball, netball, rugby, hockey, gymnastics, trampolining, swimming, fitness training, table tennis, rounders, cricket and athletics.

For KS4 students we offer BTEC First Diploma : Sport. This consists of three core units and three specialist units supporting the specialist vocational nature of the course. There is a balance of practical skill development and theoretical knowledge applied to the sports industry.

In addition, the PE department offers a Sports Leader Level 1 qualification. This supports national curriculum PE and Citizenship, using sport to give students the chance to develop skills for life such as planning, organisation, teamwork and communication.
